Student Story – Sam

Sam first came to Hilltop Artists six years ago and he was struggling with school. His special education curriculum still frustrated him and he would act out in class. But Sam began to thrive when he started doing his schoolwork in the hot shop; we found that taking breaks with physical activity helped him focus.

When Sam became homeless this past year, we connected him with local resources to help support him. Despite his circumstances, Sam was able to participate in Team Production every week, and graduated from high school on time!

Sam would be the first to tell you that being a Hilltop Artist made the difference for him. He is proud to share his accomplishments with us and values the connections and the community of being a Hilltop Artist.
