Student Story – Luis

Hilltop Artists beadmakers are all very talented artists. Luis, the May Student of the Month, is no exception. He began beadmaking as a Daytime student four years ago, and joined Team Production soon after.

Luis says he loved beads from the start because he can add more detail to his work than in glassblowing. He especially enjoys participating in Faces of Courage, a partnership between Hilltop Artists and Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. Luis loves the patients at the hospital and doing something positive for them.

Luis’s favorite part of Hilltop Artists is meeting people who support the program. He also had the opportunity to meet Dale Chihuly and Lino Tagliapietra, and he says that was pretty cool, too.

Luis is graduating from high school this year. He is considering finding a job as a cook, a profession where he can work meticulously with his hands; something he has mastered at Hilltop Artists. We’re so proud of Luis!
