Student Story – Courtney

Courtney is a member of Team Production, and has always struggled with anxiety when meeting new people. Once she began working with the glass blowing team, it was easy to see that she is creative, inquisitive, and determined. When Courtney’s mom told her she couldn’t continue at the hot shop until she brought her math grade up, Courtney got all of her work up to date within a week! Not only has Hilltop Artists let Courtney discover herself as an artist, we have also given her the chance to strengthen her social skills. She was initially petrified when she met Dale Chihuly at the Museum of Glass, but because of the social skills she has gained from being a Hilltop Artist, she jumped at the chance to speak to someone she admires so much!
