Programs

Hilltop Artists in Residence provides tuition-free, hands-on, experiential glass arts classes for approximately 500 students annually in grades 7 through 12.  There are several opportunities for students to participate: after school, in the evening, during the summer, and during the school day at both Jason Lee Middle School and Wilson High School. 

Summer glass arts instruction

Hilltop Artists in Residences (HART) announces its FREE Summer School Program for 2007 running from June 30th until August 8th , and will feature glassblowing, bead making, and glass fusion courses for students ages 12 and over.

The program is divided into two three-week sessions, June 30th through July 18th, and July 21st through August 8th.   Classes are taught in 2-hour blocks, 9am - 11am, and 11:30am-1:30pm. Students enrolled in school will be able to register for one 2-hour class during each three-week session. Space is limited!

Daytime classes for students enrolled at Jason Lee and Wilson are offered Monday through Friday, September through June.

After-school glass arts instruction is for beginning and intermediate glassblowers.  Any student enrolled in a Tacoma Public School can enroll, but space is limited. The program runs September through June.
      Jason Lee: 2:30 - 4:30 pm, Monday - Thursday
      Wilson: 2:30 - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday

Team Production is a year-round program for advanced glassblowers. Enrollment in this program is by invitation only and requires an application.  The team works 5:00 - 8:00 pm, Monday - Thursday, September through June, and 1:00 - 4:00 pm, Monday - Thursday, June through August.
