Hilltop Artists is pleased to announce that our students have been selected by Museum of Glass for a week-long Visiting Artist Residency. Students will work with MOG’s talented hot shop team on two distinct projects that will showcase captivating techniques and innovative ideas.

Today, Hilltop Artists students will be making artwork for an installation at the W.W. Seymour Conservatory in Wright Park. The students will be making glass art inspired by Kantha Embroidery, a textile artform from South Asia that tells stories through patterns and symbols. Students will continue to investigate folk art and storytelling throughout the school year, translating what they learn into unique glass art. The work made at Museum of Glass will be the foundation of the installation, which will go on view in spring of 2016.

Conversation With the Artist

From 2pm til 3pm, Hilltop Artists will host a Conversation With the Artist in the Museum Theater. Hilltop Artists Executive Director, Kit Evans, and THREADS Director and Producer, Cathy Stevulak, will give an educational lecture. After the lecture, the audience will be invited to participate in a Q&A session. The Conversation With the Artist is free with MOG admission.
